Zambales In Mono
April 13, 2010More black n whites!~
These frames were shot almost two years ago during Dead End’s celebratory trip for the twins, Ate Reina and Rea. Originally, all of these were in color, but I thought I’d PP them for mono and the vignette. Feeling like Ansel Adams eh?
Enjoy!~

Back On The Saddle…Again?
I’ve been an avid rider for the good part of this decade. I used to ride all sorts of places, from mountain trails to the cemented urban roads. For some time during my high school days, I rode a bike to school - unti the administration saw the growing skater/rider culture as a kind of ‘bad’ thing. In college, I also tried to ride my bike to school - I’d just bring clean clothing to change into for class.

When I started working, I earned cash and got myself lots of stuff. Somehow, I neglected by bike, much in part because of my lact of sleep during the weekdays. So sleep deprived I was that I just slept my weekends off - and so my bike was unused for about two, almost three years.
Last Saturday, I had the chance to ride again. I joined Robie’s newly fomred bike club on it’s first club ride along a very familiar route - from T.M. Kalaw to MOA and back. It was a mix of plain riding, and plain jumping. After years of absence from the saddle, I was more than a bit rusty. My mind rememberd the bunnyhop, but my body forgot. My mind was mentally prepared to jump, but the body is somehow reluctant to get back in the air. But in the end, a sore bum and everything else after, it was all worth it.
